TVR’s are a cheap and easy energy efficiency measure to make your home energy friendly. In taking this simple step you'll not only save money but you'll also be helping to save the environment.
What is a TRV)?
TRVs sense the air temperature where they are located and regulate the flow of water through the radiator to which they are fitted. They do not control the operation of the boiler. Each TRV should be set to suit each room and then left to do its job.
How do TRV’s save money?
Most houses are designed for outside temperatures of -1°C. When outside temperature is above this (90% of the Winter), the heating system produces too much heat. If this goes unregulated you are simply wasting your money.
TRV’s allows you to control the temperature of each individual room and when installed with other system constraints you can save up to 15% on your annual heating bill. You will also be more comfortable.
A central heating system is only as good as its controls, the better the controls, the more you save.
What Do They Cost?
TRV’s start from as little £7.00 each and in most cases can be easily fitted to an existing heating system in a day (6-8 radiator system).
How Do I Use a TRV?
Turning a TRV to a higher setting will not speed up the heating of the room. The speed of heating is determined by the boiler size and setting, and the radiator size.
